The cabin

Running costs
- Property tax, no fee. However this will be revised later this year. Sweden has no annual tax on forest properties. Municipal tax (kommunal fastighetsskatt) is 0.75% of the estimated value (taxeringsvärde) of the building and the area around the building. A new estimation will be done later this year.
- Home insurance, 3500-5000 SEK per year. Optional, and depends on coverage and insurance company.
- Heating, minimal to no cost. Firewood from your own forest.
- Electrical, no cost. Off-grid solar power.
- Garbage, no fee. There is no public garbage collection. Put the kitchen refuse in your compost. Dispose the rest for free at Mosseberg Avfallsanläggning, Arvika.
- Freshwater, no fee. Private well.
- Sewage, no fee. Private dry well.
- Snow plowing, 300 SEK each time. Optional, and depends on how often you use the road in the winter.
- Chimney sweeping, 700 SEK each time. Twice a year. No cost if you do it yourself (equipment included).

By law you have hunting rights on your own property. You can also apply to join a hunting team to get access to neighboring properties.
With the title deed come fishing rights for lake Humsjön. Information about available fish species and more can be found at: ifiske.se.
